Precinct-Count Optical Scanners

What is PCOS Machine?  This is an Optical Scanners that will be using during election period.  This is a machine that will read votes based on pencil markings.  The country has been using this machine since 2010.  I must say, it was the first time computerized election in the history of the Philippines.  This is for faster count of votes, transferring of data is faster, and early determination of the winners compared to manual counting of votes.  It was a good idea, however, there were issues that some machines are failures.  But in fairness to the authority, they were able to fixed it to pursue the election day.

The country will be having national election this month.  And there are issues circulating that the machine is not performing well.  I have seen on social media and on the news about these issue.  Whether it is true or not, I hope that they will fixed this before the election day.  I also hope that the authority/administration will not use this machines to cheat to make sure the victory of their candidate/s.  As what I have read and seen of those OFW’s who already voted and disappointed of the result on their receipt.  I pray to God that He will give us clean and honest election.  Also pray that this machine won’t be an instrument of unfair/cheating election.

I think I need to consult a technician

Just recently, my beloved laptop is making a noise.  I do not know if there is something wrong with the built-in fan because it is where the noise came from.  I have consulted a technician before, but he wants me to leave the laptop and be back after five working days.  I do not think it is a good idea, so I went home without knowing what is wrong with the laptop.  Luckily, the technician of the company where the SIL works offers for a free check up of my laptop.  I am so glad because I will be able to save money for the professional fee.  In just 30 minutes, the noise is gone.  The dust in the fan is so thick the causes the noise.

Six months later, the noise is here again.  The same noise before.  I have tried to clean it but nothing happens.  I think I need to see a technician who will do the cleaning for me.  The technician of the company where the SIL works is no longer in the city.  He was assigned to other branch. Too bad.  I will just look for another technician who will do the cleaning for me because the noise gets worse.

Right To Vote…..

It is election time once again and the long wait is over. Today is the election day in my country, a day where all the politicians and the people are waiting for to vote. Voting for another set of people who will be seated on several positions in the government. An individual who trusted by Filipino people to serve the country with honest and true to their heart.

Although others say that they do not want to vote because the same people and the country will always be the same and no hope. They wave their rights to vote for this reason. I do not want to wave my right to vote. Because my vote counts and important even if it is a single vote. My single vote will change everything. It is an exciting day to some people because this is the first time that the country will be using PCOS machine to make the counting of votes fast and easy. Indeed technology is helping us in this kind of event. I myself is very much excited to see and experience this kind of machine. Intrigues me the process of voting and counting the votes.

I want to practice my right to vote because I still believe that we have a big hope and a chance to be a better country in the future. Whatever will be the result of this election, I just hope that people will be supportive and accept the outcome. A country will not grow if each of us are just throwing stone with each other. We have a big chance if we are helping and willing to support each other. I hope and pray that the winner of this election will look for the people and the situation of this country. God bless to us!
